Help Us Continue a Legacy of Excellence in Deaf Education
For over 50 years, Fontbonne University’s Graduate Deaf Education Program has equipped more than 600 educators with the skills and knowledge to empower children who are deaf or hard of hearing. These educators help children listen, talk, read, and thrive. To safeguard its legacy and expand its impact, we propose a creative solution with Butler University. Butler, within its College of Communication (CCOM), will launch a program modeled after Fontbonne’s Master of Arts in Deaf Education in January 2026. We need your support to ensure this piece of Fontbonne and its founding mission continues!
Together, we can meet the growing demand for highly skilled professionals who are transforming the lives of children and families. Funds raised ensure a successful launch of this new program at Butler that prepares future leaders in deaf education. Your contribution will help shape the future of deaf education and positively impact generations to come while extending Fontbonne’s legacy.

Expanded Impact: A new program launch at Butler will enable greater innovation, broader outreach, and an increase in trained professionals to serve deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. It also allows for continued partnership with St. Joseph Hearing & Speech, with locations in both St. Louis and Indianapolis.
